Build a Superteam Ireland Telegram chatbot

Goal

Build a Telegram bot that lives in the Superteam Ireland group and in DMs. It should answer common questions, show upcoming events, list live bounties, and notify people when new Superteam Ireland bounties go live.

What it should do

• Q&A: Natural-language answers to FAQs about Superteam Ireland, Talent Hub Fridays, BuildStation, Colosseum, how to join, useful links and contacts.

• Events: “Link to Talent Hub” or “next Superteam Ireland event” returns title, date, time, venue, and RSVP link.

• Bounties: Show current Superteam Ireland bounties with prize and deadline. Support simple filters by category or keyword.

• Alerts: Post to the group when a new Superteam Ireland bounty is published. People can /subscribe for DM alerts and /unsubscribe any time.

• Commands and mentions: /help, /faq, /events, /bounties etc. In groups, only reply when mentioned or when a command is used.

Data and content

• Bounties: Pull from a feed link we can swap without code changes.

• Events: Pull from a feed link for upcoming Luma events that we can swap without code changes.

• Knowledge base: Markdown FAQ files stored in the repo with simple search over titles and body.

• You can structure this however you prefer if the result is easy to change and maintain.

Build guidelines

• Use any stack you like. Keep it simple, fast, and well documented.

  
  

  Deliverables

• A live bot with a public handle, added to a test group.

• Simple configuration to change the bounty and event feeds, plus how often to check for new bounties.

• A scheduled check that posts a new bounty alert

• A 90-second demo video showing: DM Q&A, group mention behavior, event answer, bounty list, subscribe flow, and a live bounty alert.

• Please provide an overview of maintenance costs.

Prize

$500 USD to the best submission.

• Reliable bounty alerts and easy configuration.

• Quality of documentation and handover readiness.

How to submit

Post your bot link, repo, and demo video. Add a short note on how your data adapters work and how to change feeds without code edits.

Please add @SuperteamIreland on Telegram to a groupchat with your bot to test. Do not add to the Superteam Ireland official chats for testing.

Acceptance checklist (must have)

• Works in DMs and in groups when mentioned or via commands.

• /events returns upcoming events with date, time, location, and RSVP link.

• /bounties lists current Superteam Ireland bounties with prize, deadline, and links.

• New bounty alerts come from a scheduled feed check with de-duplication.

• /subscribe and /unsubscribe for DM notifications.

• /privacy explains stored data and opt-out.

• Feed links and check frequency are configurable without code changes.

• Group replies are rate-limited to prevent spam.
