Mission

Talk to 5 real or potential users and show how their feedback changed your thinking.

Scope Detail

• Interview at least 5 people who genuinely match your target user profile.

• Clearly explain:

  • What you wanted to learn.

  • What the most important insights were.

  • What you changed, decided not to build, or want to test next based on the conversations.

• Interviewees may remain anonymous (note: we value if that’s not the case!).

• Positive validation is not required. Discovering that an assumption was wrong is a valid outcome.

Submission Requirements

• Submit a Google Doc containing:

  • A brief description of the users interviewed.

  • The key questions you explored.

  • Your main learnings.

  • What changed as a result of the research.

• Existing user research notes or materials may be reused.

• All submissions must be in English.

Judging Criteria

• User Relevance: Did the team speak to people who genuinely represent the target audience?

• Quality of Research: Were the conversations designed to uncover useful information?

• Insight: Did the team identify meaningful patterns or discoveries?

• Application: Did the research influence product decisions, assumptions, or next steps?

Reward Structure

• 1st Place: 500 USDG

• 2nd Place: 300 USDG

• 3rd Place: 200 USDG
