What we're looking for: -

While it's not absolutely necessary

• we want to encourage one-shots -- short comics with a beginning, middle, and end, that could be told in a limited number of pages. Try to make the grant money count and come away with a finished comic or manga!

• That being said... IF this were the opening chapter of a multi-issue series - try to treat it as a teaser to the larger tale, but also try to give it a satisfying ending. This way it has the potential to continue for another couple of chapters OR it can stand on it's own and readers are satisfied with the ending.

• Do not submit a pitch for an epic, 500 page tale! If the pitch summary outlines 10 warring clans, each with 10 main characters with detailed story arcs, it's a big red flag.
