About the track

Building applications is hard, and we want builders to build the best applications without worrying about building user-facing wallets and earning fresh customer trust on the safety of the wallet. Okto is a web3 wallet app that simplifies your web3 experience with features like gas exchanges, cross-chain bridges, on-ramp, social login with MPC, etc. Now we seek to use the technology we have abstracted within the Okto wallet app, to help other builders as well.

The Okto embedded wallet integrates right into your application. The wallet is interoperable, i.e., the assets in the wallet can be used across dApps without fragmenting user assets and liquidity. The wallet handles all technology complexities like gas exchanges, cross chain bridging, social logins, on-ramp into crypto., etc.

The customer experience

  • One wallet to keep all your assets. Access your assets across all applications

  • A wallet that lives inside your favorite applications

  • Seamless transactions without any redirections

  • Self custody & secure assets.

  • 1-click/social Login

  • 100% transaction success

  • Gasless experience

  • Chain-abstracted experience enabled via built-in bridges & batch transactions

  • Unified P&L view

Buidler experience

  • No need for blockchain engineering expertise: web2 builder experience

  • Finish SDK integration < 1 day

  • Server to server APIs for high transaction throughput & success

  • Account abstraction wallet with risk engine

  • Android/iOS/Web UI kit

  • Blockchain APIs

  • Zero compliance overheads

  • Analytics for customer behavior

Judging criteria

  1. We are looking for innovative apps built on Okto sdk in our sandbox environment and have a good functioning UI

  2. Team must submit a fully open source repo which can be run as is (or with clear deployment instructions)

  3. Teams must submit a clear code walk and ui/ux walk through video

  4. Team must deploy on vercel or provide apk file(in case of mobile app) that is usable. This means we should be able to experience an end to end flow of the app when judging.

  5. Teams that are submitting an existing project must clearly highlight the delta built during the hack in video, code and written formats

All okto support and other information will be communicated via our discord channel for this hack - https://discord.com/channels/916349620383252511/1279427023890022512

Other Rewards

  1. Being featured on Okto’s project portfolio

  2. Invite to CoinDCX/Okto’s office for meet and greet with the leadership and other relevant team members

  3. Mentorship and guidance from our business and partnership teams towards establishing company

  4. Mentorship in transitioning to mainnet and expansions

  5. Job opportunities at CoinDCX + Okto

Project Ideas

Consumer Apps - Web3 consumer apps are decentralized applications (dApps) designed for everyday users, focusing on ease of use, security, and seamless integration with blockchain technology. These apps typically allow users to interact with blockchain networks without needing a deep understanding of the underlying technology. For eg

  1. Decentralized Social Media: A platform where users have full ownership and control of their content and data, with integrated token rewards for content creation and engagement.

  2. Digital Identity Management: A dApp for managing and verifying digital identities, allowing users to securely store and share personal information across different platforms.

DeFi Protocols with Mobile-Friendly Interfaces - These are decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols optimized for mobile devices, offering a seamless and user-friendly experience for activities such as lending, borrowing, staking, and trading crypto assets. The focus is on intuitive UI/UX design that caters to users accessing DeFi services via smartphones and tablets. Ideally you build apps with:

  1. Responsive Design: Interface that automatically adjusts to different screen sizes.

  2. One-Click Actions: Simplified actions for staking, swapping, and farming to enhance usability on mobile.

  3. Push Notifications: Alerts for important activities like liquidations, price changes, and yield rewards.

On-Chain Gaming - On-chain games are fully decentralized games where game assets, logic, and progression are managed on the blockchain. Players have true ownership of their in-game assets (e.g., characters, weapons, items) in the form of NFTs, and the game’s economy operates on decentralized tokens. Ideally they include:

  1. NFT-Based Assets: In-game assets as NFTs, enabling trading and ownership outside the game’s ecosystem.

  2. Play-to-Earn Mechanics: Players earn tokens and NFTs that have real-world value by participating in the game.

  3. Interoperability: Ability to use assets across different games and platforms, thanks to the underlying blockchain.

  4. Decentralized Governance: Players can influence game development and updates through DAO mechanisms.

Apps that Combine Multiple Blockchain Network User Flows - These applications allow users to interact seamlessly across multiple blockchain networks within a single interface, abstracting away the complexities of blockchain interoperability. Users can perform actions such as asset transfers, swaps, or staking across different chains without leaving the app. Ideally they include:

  1. Cross-Chain Asset Management: Unified dashboard for managing assets across various blockchains (e.g., Aptos, Solana, Polygon).

  2. Seamless Token Swaps: Integrate cross-chain bridges or DEX aggregators to facilitate easy token swaps between chains.

  3. Decentralized Identity Integration: Cross-chain identity management, enabling users to maintain a single identity across all chains.

Bots on Telegram/Discord/WhatsApp - Automated bots that operate within popular messaging platforms like Telegram, Discord, and WhatsApp, enabling users to execute trades, monitor markets, and manage portfolios directly from chat interfaces. Ideally they include::

  1. Automated Trade Execution: Bots that execute buy/sell orders based on pre-set strategies or signals.

  2. Market Monitoring: Real-time alerts and updates on price changes, volume spikes, and other market indicators.

  3. Portfolio Management: Track and manage crypto assets and trading performance within the chat interface.

  4. Social Trading: Allow users to follow and copy the trades of expert traders within the same messaging platform.

  5. Staking & Yield Farming: Bots can guide users through the staking process, notify them of new farming opportunities, and automate yield harvesting.

  6. Loan Management: Integrate with DeFi lending platforms to enable users to borrow or lend assets directly from the chat interface, with real-time notifications on interest rates, liquidation risks, and more.

  7. DeFi Alerts: Receive alerts for significant changes in DeFi platforms, such as APY fluctuations, new pools, or platform upgrades.

  8. Voting & Polls: Bots can manage community governance by organizing votes and polls, particularly in DAO communities, where decisions are made through token-holder consensus.

  9. Event Management: Organize and promote events (e.g., AMAs, webinars, hackathons) within the chat groups, with features for RSVP, reminders, and follow-ups.

  10. Automated Moderation: Manage group rules, filter out spam, and enforce moderation policies without human intervention, keeping the community healthy and productive.

  11. Advertising & Partnerships: Partner with crypto projects or services to promote their offerings through the bot, generating revenue through sponsored messages or features.

DeFi Dashboards - Comprehensive dashboards that provide users with an overview of their decentralized finance activities, including staking, lending, borrowing, yield farming, and liquidity provision. These dashboards aggregate data from multiple DeFi protocols and present it in an easily digestible format. Ideally they include:

  1. Portfolio Overview: Consolidated view of assets, positions, and earnings across different DeFi platforms.

  2. Analytics Tools: Detailed analytics on yield performance, risk assessment, and ROI calculations.

  3. Automation Features: Integrate tools for automating reinvestment strategies, compounding yields, or rebalancing portfolios.

  4. Customizable Alerts: Notifications for critical events like interest rate changes, liquidation risks, or new farming opportunities.
