The Pyth oracle program in this V1 is native to Solana. Data providers posted their price updates directly to Solana mainnet-beta. The Pyth oracle program would then aggregate their inputs on-chain to publish a continuous stream of native price updates.In 2022, the Pyth Network launched its V2, a pull oracle designed on the Pythnet appchain, to send oracle updates cross-chain to non-Solana ecosystems. Only recently is Pyth V2 coming to Solana mainnet-beta. This will require all Solana DeFi protocols to migrate from the old Pyth Network push oracle to the new pull oracle.
