Self-Initiating Multisig for Solana (Using Squads v4)

About The Project

Flux is a leading decentralized cloud infrastructure, powering thousands of applications globally. As the developer behind widely-used wallets such as Zelcore, SSP, and Ecko, Flux is at the forefront of decentralized technology and innovation.

We are seeking an experienced Solana Rust Developer with expertise in multi-signature solutions, particularly within the Solana blockchain ecosystem using Squads. Squads currently has a limitation: it requires a creator to deploy the multisig program. We believe this poses a potential security risk. For a truly decentralized solution, multisigs should be fully self-reliant.

Our goal is to build a self-initializing multisig wallet on Solana that does not require a creator. Instead of manually initializing the multisig, it will bootstrap itself based on its configuration. Anyone will be able to trigger the creation process, and the resulting multisig account will always be the same.

This approach is ideal for decentralized teams, DAOs, and validators who want to coordinate off-chain activities and deploy their multisig trustlessly.

The project must include:

• General white paper

• A comprehensive test suite

Lifecycle Workflow

1. Coordination: Members agree on the multisig configuration (e.g., members, threshold).

2. Funding (optional): The multisig PDA is pre-funded before creation.

3. Bootloader Execution (this project): Any participant submits a transaction that creates the multisig PDA exactly as agreed upon in the configuration.

4. Multisig Creation: The Squads createMultisig function is invoked using the authorized creator PDA.

5. Verification: The multisig configuration is verifiable on-chain using its hash, and optionally through a registry.

Estimated Time to Complete

The project is expected to take 3 weeks to complete. The timeline should account for development, testing, and potential revisions. Regular progress meetings and timely updates on the project status will be expected.

Payment Logistics

• 10% upon the start of the project

• 20% upon completion of half of the agreed scope

• 70% upon full project completion
