Write a Pre-Seed Fundraising Guide for Ukrainian Solana Startups

Mission

Ukrainian founders building on Solana face a unique fundraising reality: local angel and VC capital exists but is limited, and the most accessible early-stage capital is global. Your job is to identify and map less obvious sources of early funding that a Ukrainian or Eastern European Solana startup can realistically access — including specific contacts, warm entry points, and application details. 

What We're Looking For

Your report should include a mix of:

• Global Angel Syndicates open to non-US/non-UK founders — who runs them, whether they invest in crypto/Solana projects, contact info, how to get in front of them

• Startup Competitions and Pitch Events — international competitions, hackathons with equity/grant prizes, events hosted by universities, accelerators, or large corporates that Ukrainian founders can enter remotely or in person

• Accelerators with direct funding — programs that accept non-US/UK teams, include a cash component, and are appropriate for early Solana startups; include submission dates, evaluation criteria, and whether remote participation is allowed

• Grants — from DAOs, crypto foundations (Solana Foundation, web3 ecosystem funds), international development organizations (USAID, EU innovation programs, EBRD), and any grants accessible to Ukrainian-registered or diaspora-founded companies

• Diaspora and Ukrainian-focused investor networks — Ukrainian tech diaspora angels in the US, EU, and UK; networks like UA Angels, Ukrainian Startup Fund, and less obvious equivalents

• Any other creative paths — revenue-based financing, token raises, ecosystem-specific grants, or non-dilutive programs that fit early Solana startups

Rating Criteria

Quality over quantity - 10 well-researched opportunities beat a generic list of 50. Extra points for:

• Opportunities that are not exclusively web3 but are appropriate for web3 startups

• Specific contact information — LinkedIn profiles, emails, or named individuals who run the syndicate or program

• Sources that are genuinely less well known — generic lists of Tier-1 crypto VCs have no value here

• Programs with a realistic path for Ukrainian-founded or Eastern European teams — remote-friendly, no US entity requirement, or with precedent of funding non-Western foundersEvaluation Criteria

Geography

The primary focus is global opportunities accessible to Ukrainian-founded startups — regardless of where the founder is currently based (Ukraine, Poland, Germany, US, etc.). Do not limit scope to Ukraine-only capital sources.

Submission Format

• A concise, well-written document (Word or Google Doc) listing and explaining each opportunity

• Optional: a supplementary spreadsheet for structured data (fund name, stage, ticket size, geography, contact, link, notes)

• If submitting multiple files, share a single Google Drive folder link

Notes

• Original research only; verify all contact information before submitting

• Firsthand knowledge of the global fundraising landscape for Eastern European founders is a strong advantage

• We especially value any opportunities where you can identify a warm path in — not just a cold application link

Participation in this bounty is entirely voluntary. Bounties are a way to learn and dabble in opportunities to build in web3. These are neither full time jobs nor project based engagement. Please be advised that the sponsors will not have time for individualized feedback due to the number of entries we receive.
