We're inviting developers to design and deploy (can be devnet) a financial product on Solana - and explain why it matters for the Web3 ecosystem today.
Your Task π οΈ
Build an original on-chain financial instrument on Solana. This can be anything from a structured yield product, a credit facility, a risk-tranching mechanism, to a collateralized lending protocol β as long as it's genuinely useful and doesn't just copy what already exists.
Equally important: write a short product rationale explaining what gap in the current DeFi/Web3 ecosystem your product addresses and why Solana is the right place to build it.
Inspiration (not templates)
Projects like Strata show how TradFi concepts - CDOs, tranching, risk segmentation - can be reimagined on-chain. Strata separates yield from risk by splitting sUSDe into a conservative senior tranche (srUSDe) and a high-risk junior tranche (jrUSDe), giving users structured exposure without needing to exit the DeFi ecosystem.
Pyra takes a different approach: it lets users invest their entire paycheck into on-chain assets, then spend via a DeFi-backed credit card without ever selling - essentially bringing the "Buy, Borrow, Die" wealth strategy used by billionaires to everyday users, all built on Solana.
These are examples of what's possible. Your product doesn't need to look like either of them.
Scope Detail βοΈ
Product design - define the financial mechanics clearly (what it does, who it's for, how it works on-chain)
Implementation - build a working Solana program using Rust (Anchor or native SDK)
Rationale - explain the gap your product fills and why this instrument belongs on Solana specifically
Mandatory Requirements π©
Rust (Anchor or native SDK)
On-chain program deployed to Devnet
Public GitHub repo
A written product rationale in README covering:
What financial problem does this solve?
Why does this exist on Solana and not elsewhere?
Who is the target user?
Devnet transaction links
Basic testable client (minimal frontend or CLI)
Judging Criteria π
Financial product design & originality - 30%
Code quality & Rust implementation - 25%
Product rationale & ecosystem fit - 25%
Correctness & testing - 10%
UX / client usability - 10%
