We’re inviting developers from the Solana community to take part in our “Build Everyday Real-World Systems as On-Chain Rust Programs” Challenge

Your Task 🛠️

Take a system used in everyday life and build its core logic as a Solana program written in Rust.

The goal is to leverage the core advantages of blockchain - such as permissionlessness, token infrastructure, and trustlessness - and focus on systems that genuinely benefit from being built on-chain, rather than forcing existing traditional systems onto it. This challenge aims to showcase practical daily use cases that put the highest weight on perfecting a minimal solution with zero feature-creep.

Task Description 💻

Choose ONE everyday life system and implement its core logic as a Solana program.

Example systems include (but are not limited to):

  • Ticketing system (enabling a fair secondary market via tokenized tickets or NFTs)

  • P2P asset rental engine (trustless security deposits for daily items)

  • Decentralized loyalty and rewards ledger for local businesses

  • Shared housing utility and split-billing coordination engine

  • Time-banking tokenized local service exchange ledger

Scope Detail ⚙️

Architecture design - translate an everyday real-world scenario into Solana’s account model

Program development - implement logic using Rust (Anchor or native SDK)

System thinking - demonstrate how permissionlessness, token infrastructure, and trustlessness solve daily friction

Practical usability - make the system testable and understandable for other developers

Mandatory Requirements 📩

  • Rust (Anchor or native SDK)

  • On-chain program deployed to Devnet

  • Public GitHub repo

  • Architecture explanation included in README:

    • How this friction works in traditional systems

    • How this works on Solana

    • Tradeoffs & constraints

  • Devnet transaction links

  • Testable publicly deployed/shared basic client (minimal frontend or CLI)

Judging Criteria weight 🏆

Submissions will be evaluated based on:

Practicality and originality 30%

Architecture & account modeling 25%

UX / client usability 10%

Code quality & Rust patterns 20%

Correctness & testing 15%

Rewards 💰
