Solana was the #1 ecosystem for new developers in 2024, and the developer ecosystem has skyrocketed in 2025 (spoiler alert: much more than 75 devs in the ecosystem now).
Here’s an overview:
Anchor remains the most popular smart contract framework, while tools like Seahorse and Solang bring Python and Solidity to Solana.
Helius, LamportDAO, and Mucho CLI are redefining the dev experience with advanced RPCs, web-based IDEs, and all-in-one tooling setups.
GameShift API and AWS Solana blueprints are making it easier for Web2 teams to build onchain experiences on Solana.
New account abstraction libraries like Pinocchio and tools like Surfpool help simulate mainnet locally and ship safer programs.
Tools like Squads v4, Umi, and Kinobi offer plug-and-play SDKs for multisig, serialization, and wallet UX.
Your mission is to write a comprehensive deep dive about the State of Dev Tooling on Solana. The ideal submission will:
Present an overview of all the developer tools available in the Solana Ecosystem today, and comment on ongoing developments
Highlight and explain all key product developments, partnerships, and integrations related to dev tooling
Draw out a dev tooling ecosystem map highlighting distinct areas within the Solana Developer Ecosystem
Suggest & develop interesting opportunities or RFPs with dev tooling
Sound opinionated and interesting vs just being an information dump
In addition to the criteria shared above, our judges will use the following criteria will judge your submissions:
Did you write a compelling introduction and a satisfying conclusion?
Is your writing easy and fun to read?
Did you avoid overly complex jargon?
Did you explain concepts in a way a person new to crypto could understand?
