On-Chain Loyalty Rewards System Challenge

We’re inviting developers from the Solana community to take part in our “On-Chain Loyalty Rewards System” Challenge.

Your Task 🛠️

Traditional loyalty programs are siloed, restrictive, and friction-heavy for local businesses to maintain, while customers often get stuck with static points they cannot easily track, transfer, or combine.

Your task is to build a cutting-edge loyalty and rewards system on Solana written in Rust. We want you to move beyond basic ledgers and points. The goal is to leverage Solana's high throughput, low fees, and advanced token infrastructure to build an innovative, out-of-the-box loyalty application. Show us what is uniquely possible when you combine brand loyalty with Web3 primitives like Token Extensions (Token-2022), compressed NFTs (cNFTs), cross-merchant composability, or gamified mechanics.

Task Description 💻 

Design and implement a highly innovative loyalty rewards mechanism. Rather than just a minimal point issuance system, your program should explore next-generation concepts. This could mean dynamic cross-brand reward swapping, soulbound achievement tokens using Token Extensions, automated algorithmic rewards, spatial/geofenced token drops, or loyalty mechanisms that plug seamlessly into existing DeFi or gaming ecosystems. Focus on creating a creative, composable solution that demonstrates how decentralized state can completely reimagine customer engagement and unlock new business models.

Scope Detail ⚙️

Innovative Architecture: translate a novel reward mechanic (e.g., cross-ecosystem synergy, gamification, token-gated perks) into Solana’s account model

Advanced Tech Utilization: implement backend logic using Rust with Anchor or native SDK, actively leveraging advanced features like Token Extensions, cNFTs, or seamless Cross-Program Invocations (CPIs)

Composability & System Thinking: demonstrate how your loyalty primitive can be plugged into or interacted with by other dApps, merchants, or external systems

Next-Gen UX: build a system that abstracts away typical crypto friction, making the innovative features accessible to everyday users or traditional businesses

Mandatory Requirements 📩

• Public GitHub repo

• Architecture explanation included in README:

  • What novel loyalty mechanism or friction point you are addressing

  • How Solana’s specific infrastructure enables this innovation

  • Tradeoffs & constraints

• Devnet transaction links

• Testable publicly deployed/shared client (frontend or CLI to demonstrate the innovation)

Judging Criteria weight 🏆

Submissions will be evaluated based on:

Innovation and Originality (35%): How creatively does the solution push the boundaries of traditional loyalty programs using Web3 tools?
Architecture & Advanced Solana Features (25%): Effective use of the account model, CPIs, and features like Token Extensions or cNFTs

Code Quality & Rust Patterns (15%): Clean, secure, and idiomatic Rust/Anchor code

Composability & Ecosystem Fit (15%): How well the system can integrate with other platforms, merchants, or Web3 applications

UX / Client Usability (10%): How effectively the frontend/CLI demonstrates the product's innovative value
